Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school!

Today is always a very exciting day in the school calendar as we welcome back enthusiastic familiar faces.  the children are delighted to be back with their friends, in their new classroom with their new teacher and their new books, new bags etc. There is a fantastic buzz about the place. And of course, you, the parents are rejoicing, for your own reasons!

But it is an emotional day too. It is the launching of a long academic career for the new Junior Infants and while they are delighted on one level, they are a little anxious too, as are their mammies and daddies! So we wish them every success. I guarantee that they will love it in a very short space of time! It is a big day for the new children joining other classes in the school and we extend a special welcome to them too.

It’s also lovely to see you the parents and guardians again. You are very important to us and a vital part of our school community We thoroughly enjoy catching up with our long standing members but also extend a warm welcome to new parents. Some of you will have friends here already but some won’t. I encourage you to get involved in the PTA at an early stage, where you will meet and get to know people, while learning about the workings of the school.

Last, but by no means least, I welcome back our unique staff. I have no doubt they will continue to do a marvellous job they have always done. As always, if you have any worry or concern regarding your child, please do not hesitate to let us know. We will be more than happy to talk to you and try to be of help.
