Dear Parents and Guardians,
Céad Míle Fáilte Roimh Ar Ais ar Scoil! Welcome back to school!
I hope you have enjoyed the good weather and have had some quality leisure time with your children. We look forward to another happy and productive year at Le Chéile.
I would like to extend a special warm welcome to those new to the school; our little junior infants and their parents and the many other new children and their families throughout the school. A special welcome back also to all our staff: the teachers and SNAs, Geraldine, Karen and Bernard. Fiona O’Connell, 5th class teacher, is being replaced by Sean Holohan until after Halloween and Aimée Mc Nally will replace Rachel in a few weeks time when she goes on maternity leave. We wish her the best of luck with the new arrival! We are also delighted to welcome back Fiona Mulligan, SNA to Le Chéile who will be working with Julie’s senior infants.
We hope you and your children will settle into the routine of school with relative calm. We know it takes a week or two for that to happen. Getting children out of bed early, making lunches, checking all books are in place etc. is not always easy. But if there was one thing for you to prioritise for your children, we would suggest, is that you would have them here on time. Children hate to miss out on those early morning minutes of socialising and settling into school. It is very hard to walk in the door of the classroom to find the work has begun and you have missed the early morning chat!
For all the new members of our school community, I encourage you to become involved in the many activities carried out by the PTA. Your voice matters to us, so please, come along to PTA meetings to find out how you can become an active member. It is a great way to learn about the school your children are attending and of getting to know others in the community.
Our mission is that the children at our school will be happy and grow and develop to their potential and that “no child is an outsider”. Please let your child’s teacher know should any difficulty arise and together we will find the solution. I wish you all a happy and healthy academic year 2019-2020 and I know your children will thrive in our wonderful school.
