Le Chéile Credit Union Quiz Champions 2014

It was a proud day for the Le Chéile Educate Together National School quiz team who became the All Ireland Champions in the Annual Credit Union Quiz competition. The team, which comprised of Aoife Finn-Gallagher, Jonathan Clear, Ferdia Quigley and Andrew Keane, prevailed over forty nine other teams from across the 32 counties on April 6th to be named the victors of this prestigious competition.

The four Le Chéile ETNS teams worked tirelessly from January with their teachers Fiona O’ , Jessica and Patricia, with the Senior 6th class team fighting out to win both the East Meath Credit Union level on February 3rd and the Credit Union Chapter level on Friday 28th February.

A long day was spent in the RDS on April 6th with the students, parents, teachers and Rosemary all battling nerves from the onset with the lead being shared and changing regularly. The quiz master, Marty Whelan, kept us all entertained with his witty humour but it was the ‘selfie’, which was the talking point of the day for the children. The winning team took home a Samsung Galaxy tablet each, a plaque, €1,250 for the school and The Credit Union Quiz cup. It was a proud and historic day for the school, as it was our first time reaching and winning the national final and the coveted prizes.
