Copper Pots and Fleadh – May 2018
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope you are all well. We have 2 updates for you:
As you know, the classes have been collecting ‘Coppers’ over the past few weeks. There was great competition between the classes and we were blown away by the amount of coins collected! After a week of sorting and counting, the results are finally in ……
Copper Pots – A Great Success!
The grand total collected was €2,945.64! An amazing effort from all the families and teachers. This gives our fundraising efforts a great kick start towards our target.
The winning class was Fiona O’Connell’s 5th class who collected an incredible €426.10!!! WELL DONE 5th CLASS!
Well done to all the classes and a MASSIVE THANKS to you all for the support – we really appreciate it.
We want to say a very big thanks to all the wonderful parents who help with the coin counting and sorting. It wasn’t a very pleasant task and took a long time – so we really appreciate all the time and effort x
Le Cheile Fleadh – Irish Festival
There’s great excitement in the school as the classes prepare for this summer’s sponsored event – the Le Cheile Fleadh, a traditional Irish festival celebrating music, poetry, song and dance. This will take place in the senior yard (weather permitting) on Wednesday 23rd May. All parents welcome to help on the day. Sponsorship cards will be sent home today – 1 per family. Again, we appreciate your support.
If there are any parents/guardians who would like to participate, by singing, dancing, playing traditional music, reciting poetry etc., they would be most welcome. To facilitate organising this, could you make contact with the class reps or a member of the committee in the next few days.
We are planning a fun parent evening event for later in the year and will update you over the next few weeks.
Many thanks for your continued support – much appreciated.
Best Wishes,
FRC
