Sporting Events at Le Chéile
A variety of sporting events took place during our 1st term in Le Chéile.
The children from 5th classes received swimming instruction in the Aura swimming pool, 4th classes will begin their sessions next term starting on January 10th.
1st and 2nd classes have received Gaelic training with the great trainers from St. Colmcille’s . This is the fifth year we have been lucky enough to have this training and the boys and girls are looking forward to the next session beginning on the 18th of January.
3rd classes are currently taking part in the Gaelic schools blitz; all the regular Gaelic training is definitely paying off and they will play their last games in January. 4th classes will take part in the schools blitz next term, with their first match being played in February. So it might be a good idea to ask Santa for some gum shields if anybody doesn’t already have one!
3rd and 4th classes have received tennis coaching this term and 5th and 6th classes are looking forward to picking up the racquets in January.
We are looking forward to our school Gaelic team taking part in the Corn Cois Farraige Schools Cup Competition in the New Year. The team is made up of boys and girls from our 5th and 6th classes. They have been training very hard every week with their coach, Graham O’Reilly. A big thanks to Graham for sharing his skills and talents with our football team.
Best of luck to the team in the upcoming competition, they are as follows:
