World Book Day Celebrations
On Thursday 2nd of March everyone in Le Chéile celebrated the 20th anniversary of World Book Day. The children in Senior Infants were very excited to get involved in many events.
Everyone brought in one of their favourite books from home. We used these for “Show and Tell” and then wrote a sentence about them.
After break time we took part in paired reading. Senior Infants were paired with fourth class. It was a lovely activity which was especially enjoyed by the younger children who loved being read to by the “big” boys and girls.
In the afternoon we enjoyed listening to a story which was shown on the whiteboard.
Some children made an extra effort and dressed up as a character from a book.
Everyone received a book token too which can be used in participating book shops.
A great day was had by all. WE LOVE BOOKS
