Welcome Back! 2018
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Céad Míle Fáilte Roimh Ar Ais ar Scoil! Welcome back to school!
It was lovely to return to school and meet children and staff alike and hear of their summer adventures. I hope you too enjoyed the sun filled weeks of July and August and are ready to enjoy another happy and productive year at Le Chéile. Personally, I am delighted to be back in the saddle, complete with a new knee! It is considered major surgery with a long road to recovery (a year at least) but each day is a step closer. In due course, I hope to be dancing the tango with the best of them!
We would like to extend a special warm welcome to those new to the school; our little junior infants and their parents and the many other new children and their families throughout the school. A special welcome also to our new teachers, Roisín in 2nd class, Aimée in first class and a welcome back to Cormac in 4th class, Laura in 3rd class, Sinéad in Senior Infants and Mark in Special Education. A big congratulation to Eva, Rachel, Sorcha and Heather on the safe and happy arrival of their beautiful new babies.
We hope the settling into the routine of school is progressing with relative calm and that the burden of lunches, homework and early mornings is easing!
For all the new members of our school community, I encourage you to become involved in the many activities carried out by the PTA. Your voice matters to us so please, come along to PTA meetings to find out how you can become an active member. It is a great way to learn about the school your children are attending and of getting to know others in the community.
Our mission is that the children at our school will be happy and grow and develop to their potential and that “no child is an outsider”. Please let your child’s teacher know should any difficulty arise and together we will find the solution. I wish you all a happy and healthy academic year 2018-2019 and I know your children will thrive in our wonderful school.
