Our first term in 4th Class
The first term in 4th Class has been a very busy one. We have completed lots of art work, started to learn recorder, taken part in GAA coaching and completed projects on E.U countries and Ancient Civilisations such as The Greeks, Romans and Celts.
In SESE we completed a unit of work learning all about People at Work. We learned about different jobs and services and how they benefit our community. Some parents came in to talk to us about their jobs. It was really interesting and probably inspired some further career paths. We would really like to thank the parents for giving up their time to come in and speak to us. We really enjoyed having them.
Parents weren’t the only visitors we had in our classroom in the first term. Slither the snake came in to visit us twice. Once at the beginning of the year and again just before Christmas so we could see how he eats. We loved having Slither to visit and can’t wait to see him when he gets bigger!! Cooper the hamster also spent a day in our classroom. He was very well behaved and we enjoyed rubbing and holding him.
Science week also happened in the first term. We researched and demonstrated Science experiments and visited a science fair in Fiona O’ Connell’s 5th class. It was a really fun day!
Some of our class our quickly becoming TV stars. Some of us appeared on RTE’s 10@10 and AbraKIDabra. Get our autographs quick!!
We are really looking forward to the next term where we will start our tennis and swimming lessons. Our PeaceProms concert also happens in February and is sure to be great.
