Fleadh Cheoil Le Chéile

As we all know by now Drogheda has the great honour of hosting Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this year in August. So the Fundraising Committee and the staff came together to organise our own Fleadh here at school.

It was a magnificent summer day and we all assembled in the yard, which was festooned with bunting and decorations. The children dressed in their green finery, sang and danced, recited poetry and played instruments.

There was ceol and craic enjoyed by all! Some members of staff played bodhrán and piano accordion and treated us to a display of Riverdance. It was a magical, memorable day for all and the children and their families collected sponsorship money to support the purchase of new resources for the school.

We are all now ready and looking forward to the Fleadh in August.
