Le Chéile await final results of Drogheda Schools Chess League

Le Chéile can proudly boast a superb Chess Club. Its aim is to promote chess in the senior classes and to play competitively in the local leagues. The club currently has 20 members with a five-member team that plays competitively.

The team recently competed in the Drogheda Schools’ Chess League and did very well with some great wins achieved against some tough local opposition. They hold a very good position in the league at the moment and are definitely aiming for a top spot.

Final results are not yet released but when they are there will be a presentation of awards night in the Westcourt Hotel when the winning local schools will be presented with their awards. Big congratulations must go to the team and a huge thank you to all the children in the chess club for their dedication to the game and who represented the school so well.
