Moon and Sixpence Puppet Theatre entertains at Le Chéile ETNS

There was a great buzz of excitement in the school Thursday morning in anticipation of the Puppet Show put on by the Moon and Sixpence Company. For the little ones, “Red Riding Hood” provided the entertainment with the inevitable trickery and “look behind you” antics of puppetry. There was lots of clapping and pointing and children shouting with excitement right to the end. It was obvious that they all loved it and were sorry to see it end.

The older children were treated to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with the main characters being Míclín Beag, the leprechaun, Sgt Brennan and Policeman Murphy, Katie Caterpillar and the detestable villain, Mr Higgins Botham alias Mr Hideous Bottom! There was great banter between the characters who chased and cajoled and even included the teachers in their funny commentary. Again, it was an all-round success with the children who hope that one day, they will return.
