November in 4th Class

Heather Cummins Class Blog Class Blog

November has been the busiest month yet for us in 4th Class.  Of course Science Week is in November so, on Friday the 18th we had a Science Day. We all prepared an experiment to present to our class either by ourselves or in a group. We had many great experiments, including making goo, making flowers change colour and making lava lamps. We also visited Fiona O’ Connell’s 6th class to see their great Science Fair. It was a really fun day.

Also in November, we were learning about People at Work in S.E.S.E so we invited some parents in to talk to us about their jobs. It was really interesting and we really enjoyed learning about the different jobs. We even got to see and hold some baby chickens.  A big thanks to all the parents who visited us. We had Alex’s mother who teaches nurses how to become nurses, Rebecca’s Dad who is an animal nutritionist, Runako’s Dad who works in airport security and Charlotte’s Dad who is a transport and logistics manager.

We also did projects on Ancient Civilisations. Some of us did the Ancient Greeks, some did the Ancients Romans and some did the Celts.

We learned about Irish trees and went up to the field to find leaves and sketch them. In P.E we finished our tennis lessons and played some crab football. We also started rehearsing for our Christmas Concert. For Erasmus we learned about symbols in Cypriot Myths. These will go in a book with symbols from all the other Erasmus countries.

When I grow up, I’m going to be…. CHRISTMAS CONCERTS 2016 – TIME TABLE
