Second Class are Busy!

The children in both second classes have spent lots of time over the past few weeks learning all about China as part of the S.E.S.E. curriculum. We also integrated it into other areas of the curriculum such as R.V.E., Art and English.

At the very beginning of our lesson we filled  in the first two columns of a  K.W.L. chart. (what we Know, what we Would like to know, what we Learned). We were delighted at the end of the lessons to able to fill in lots of information in the last column.

Some  other activities we did included reading about the life of a boy in China, looking at photos of China, using chopsticks, finding China on a map/globe, writing letters, writing fortune cookies, looking at items from China, project work; and designing Chinese blue porcelain plates.

We are now all looking forward to celebrating the Chinese New Year on the Friday, 16th February. Kung Hei Fat Choy!
