Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

By now I hope you and your children are starting to settle into the routine of school with the shock of getting up in the morning lessening and the preparation of lunches and doing of homework becoming a little easier!

It was nice to welcome back all the familiar faces on September 1st; children, parents and staff. We extend a very warm welcome to those new to the school; our little junior infants and their parents and the many other new children and their families throughout the school. A special welcome also to two new teachers, Sinéad in 4th class and Laura in 3rd class. Welcome back to Fiona, SNA, after her two years career break. Welcome back to Marian, SNA after making a full recovery from a two year long illness. It’s nice to have you both back. We will miss Nicola K. who is on career break this year.

We had a very sad start to our school year with the death of little Séimí. Our hearts break for David and Orna and their families and we hope that with time, they will manage to cope with their loss. I know the staff and community will continue to show them the amazing support and help that they have over the last three years and we look forward to having David back in our midst, in time.

For all the new members of our school community, I encourage you to become involved in the many activities carried out by the PTA. Your voice matters to us, so please, come along to PTA meetings to find out how you can become an active member. It is a great way to learn about the school your children are attending and of getting to know others in the community.

Our mission is that the children at our school will be happy and grow and develop to their potential and that “no child is an outsider”. Please let your child’s teacher know should any difficulty arise and together we will find the solution.

I wish you all a happy and healthy academic year 2017-2018 and I know your children will thrive in our wonderful school.

Kindest regards,

Fiona Rock

Principal
